Manny Pacquiao is the first Filipino male celebrity to have his own wax figure inside the world-famous museum.
Boxer Manny Pacquiao once again made history.
Madame Tussauds in Hong Kong on Tuesday, November 23, officially unveiled the champion boxer’s wax figure, making him the first Filipino male personality to get enshrined in the popular museum.
“I’m honored to be chosen for this opportunity and grateful to Madame Tussauds for their wonderful work on my wax figure.”
The museum shared that the shorts worn by Manny’s wax figure personally belonged to the boxer.
“From the attire, the physical features and details, and even the setup, it will be like watching the boxing star in action,” mentioned Eric Mak, general manager of Madame Tussauds Hong Kong.
To complete the look, the wax figure is placed in a faux ring and visitors can have their pictures taken with the likeness of the eight-time world division champion.
Manny announced his retirement from boxing in September this year, a month after losing the WBA super welterweight title to Yordenis Ugas via unanimous decision.
Before Manny, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach was immortalized by the same museum with a wax figure unveiled in March 2019.
Next in line after Pia and Manny is the wax figure of Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, which will be launched soon.

The “Pambansang Kamao” is the second Filipino celebrity to have a wax replica created by the talented team behind Madame Tussauds.
He is also the first Filipino male personality to be featured in the museum.
Manny’s contribution to Philippine boxing and pop culture made him deserving of the recognition in the eyes of the museum’s representatives.
“I am amazed at the final product. It looks so much like me. I am excited for my fans to see this and get to take pictures. It’s like being together in the boxing ring,” said Manny in a statement.
“I’m honored to be chosen for this opportunity and grateful to Madame Tussauds for their wonderful work on my wax figure.”
