There’s nothing quite like celebrating the holidays with your nearest and dearest, and that’s exactly what Nadine Lustre experienced this holiday season!

The 30-year-old actress embraced the Christmas spirit by spending it with her family and her boyfriend, Christophe Bariou.

On December 24, 2023, Nadine’s mother, Myra Lustre, took to Instagram to showcase moments from their festive Christmas Eve.

Myra wrote in the caption, “All I want for Christmas [emoji] Warm wishes and mistletoe kisses from my family to yours.” The photos capture Nadine and Christophe, along with her parents, Myra and Ulysees, and siblings Ezekiel and Naomi.

However, netizens noticed something in the picture that they thought odd: they couldn’t find any noche buena on the table!

A netizen with the handle name @SAINTDIEG0 reposted Nadine’s noche buena photo on X (formerly Twitter), and wrote: “ijk [I just know] tinabe muna lahat ni [Nadine] lahat ng noche buena para minimalist pa rin ang family picture.”

Since its posting, the post has accumulated over 44,000 reactions, and commenters also observed the same thing.

Nadine herself shared a photo of their Christmas Eve table arrangement on her Instagram account, opting not to include any caption.

And, of course, netizens had a field day in her comments section.

One of Nadine’s Instagram followers wrote: “[Thinking] about that one tweet ‘ijk tinabe muna lahat ni [Nadine] lahat ng noche buena para minimalist pa rin ang family picture'”

Another one picked up on the minimalist comment: “Totoo ang chismis. Tinabe muna ang handa para minimalist pa rin.”

While another Instagram follower was really funny: “[Kapag] si [Nadine] minimalist kapag kami walang pang handa???? naurrrrrrr hahahahaha eme”

Taking note of the comments on her post, Nadine wrote back.

With a laughing-with-tears emoji, she explained: “Buffet style kasi mga mhie. Wala sa table ‘yung handa.”

And, yes, Nadine and family laid out their feast on the kitchen island for more dining space and more efficient traffic, as shown in her mom Myra’s Instagram Story. So, the seemingly spare table setting was not just for aesthetic reasons nor was it to go against the maximalist trend!
