Marian and Dingdong tied the knot last December. In previous interviews after their wedding, the actress admitted being ready to have a baby.

Newly-wed celebrities Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes have finally confirmed that they are expecting a baby. The couple announced the news in an interview on GMA-7’s news program 24 Oras on Monday.

“Gusto namin sabi na nagbunga yung aming pagmamahalan at nabiyayaan kami ng Panginoon ng isa sa pinakamagandang regalo na pwedeng ibigay and that’s the gift of life,”  (We wish to tell everybody that God has blessed us with the best present ever, the gift of life)”,  Dingdong said.

“To build our family is also the main reason why we decided to get married, so we are truly blessed to be having our first baby at the right time.” he said

Asked if they would want a girl or a boy for their first born, Dingdong said: “With regards to the gender, we don’t mind having a girl or a boy, a child is a real blessing.”

“Every time we talk about it (her pregnancy) I am always emotional. To be a mom, is one of my biggest dreams come true. This is the best thing that ever happened in our lives,” Marian said.

Speculations that Marian is pregnant surfaced last week following when the actress posted a photo of San Agustin Church with the caption, “Thank you Lord.” Fans of the GMA-7 star took it as a confirmation of her pregnancy.
